Celebrate your game achievements (big or small) by letting everybody know.

I'll start.

I now have my first silver cyclist, 27 year old Nico Bourquard.

Brought him for $701k just one month ago.

I made the podium in a semiclassic in 1a with one of my own pulled and trained cyclists. The best part was that all the world class riders where competing. And a few seasons earlier i won a Tour stage with an own pulled and trained cyclist.

I now have my first 8 star cyclist, and only 25 years old    (I know, I've seen a 26 year old gold cyclist [I think from memory hills]).
http://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/vision.php?ciclistaid=75220

Somehow, by his stats, I'm sure he's got it for hill-sprinting.

Grats. But there have been quite a few 26 y.o. gold cyclists, at least on sprint and cobble/hills.
I believe Robin DeKort was gold at 25.

That list is only the best hiller on hill flat and hill pure. The icon of that rider doesnt have to be gold as well :)

Ricardo was gold at 22.  But simple fact is that there won't be another gold cyclist so young, because the standards are higher.  Some of the original golds are only bronze cyclists (and not enough age to make the difference).
I don't understand?

Nevermind. Dont take icons to seriously. Gold silver bronze or the ones with a cross!

They were not gold in the first seasons. This ranking points out the best hiller of the season (DT) as Sjiz has already told you.  ;)

My bad, I was under the impression that only the top 2-3 in each category was gold.

Still, 8 stars at 25 years old isn't to be sneezed at for a relatively new team (particularly as it's wasn't either of my free picks).

Mannie Robinson 21 kills all 22 year olds to take the u23 title in 3i (I think from memory he finished 2nd? the previous season - unless it was Finley). Btw: He was racing with health as low as 50 or so.

Mannie Robinson has shown he's going to be a star flat-hiller, having won Stage 1 Tirreno Adriatico in 3i, and then backing it up with a 7th in the u23 NT race [3rd for those without the hot weather bonus] in a race which was definitely much too short & not hilly enough for him.
It's my first win with a cyclist who started his career in my team (Mannie having had a 3rd place result last season).

I know Australia is the smallest CFF nation, but it's massively cool to be ahead of a top team like Angeles.

After 4 stages of 13th Season's Eneco Tour  (Division 3d) and winning 4th stage :) my sprinter is quite close to the green jersey:

1  Nestor Vargas Huesconsin 142
2  Helio Rei Huesconsin 128
3  Damir Bilozor DecAir 115
4  Phil Baxter SkibetCycling 113
5  Helio Barros Euskalzamal 110

There are 65 points left to gain, but... The last stage has intermediate sprint after 1st, flat section - I hope to gain here 20 points. But remaining sections are hills (3) and cobblestone (1) with final sprint in the hills - and that's not good, my sprinter doesn't like them. Well, tonight everything will be known...
Title: Re: Celebrate Your Game Achievements
Post by: pablo8019 on October 10, 2013, 10:17:27 pm
As I supposed, he did his best but was unable to win with all these hills... Finally it doesn't look bad at all:

1    Helio Barros   Euskalzamal   164
2    Nestor Vargas   Huesconsin   142
3    Damir Bilozor   DecAir   132
4    Helio Rei   Huesconsin   128
5    Phil Baxter   SkibetCycling   113

and it makes me believe in even better results in the nearest future.

Yes monday morning he got it.

I was actual looking at him monday night  ;D

Can you give a hint what Mannys favorite races are? According to you of course..
It is a long tough one to get a gold icon. I just have a 24 yo who got silver this thursday. I think it is as a pure hiller.
Romeo Hulsbos   Age : 24   Wage : 831  (http://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colinasplata.jpg)
Stamina : 81   Sprint : 25   Climbing : 15
Flat : 54   Cobblestone : 53   Technique : 34
Downhill : 78   Hills : 97   Aggressiveness : 88
Time Trial : 55   Teamwork : 16   Experience : 38

Mannie should be best with one flat section (actually best when the manager doesn't stuff up).  He got silver as a flat-hiller, but I suspect gold is probably as pure hills.

With his 7th place finish in la Vuelta, my 24 year old tour-rider Antal Karolyi whom I've been training since age 19 just reached 6,000 points in 3A, which is 2,500 more points than any other cyclist his age has in the 3rd division has this year. I know its just the 3rd division but thats still pretty damn good.

That is very high according to me, in 3G our best 24yr old rider have not even scored 3000 points.
Cachuflines in Div 3G is training some very good tour riders, and his best 23 year old scored 2683 points ( all his riders is 23 year old! )
Cachuflines have been playing since season 3, and were for 10 seasons in 1A, so he should be training great riders.

http://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/vision.php?ciclistaid=342765 (http://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/vision.php?ciclistaid=342765)

But then again, I think the competition in DIV 3G is also quite fierce this season.
If you look at the top point scorer in DIV 3G, then it is 22k compared to 53k in DIV 3A.
Our top scorer, actually scored the least top points compared to all the other 3rd divisions.

Grats! Always great to have faith in a rider and seeing it pay out. Now some epic results in the races!

I had a nice moment as well. Its not the greatest achievement imaginable but still happy with it as its another sign my new generation is coming along great. My two 24yo hillers and future team leaders are among the favourites for the stage victory tonight:

Favourites
Vladislav Mazalov bestiesnegres
Leonel Ferreira TeamRolf
Richárd Kaplár PedaleSanvitese
Ferdi Schaukens Porteños
Chiel Boffin TeamRolf

Happy with the team so far. In a season or 2/3 i am aiming to promote to the first division again. Starting to prepare for some transfers.

Now, that's really cool for 2nd division, especially as there's a few div1 quality cyclists (& teams) there.  It's even better when your young cyclist thrash those much older.

Too many Spaniards play for different countries.
Still, almost 30% of all CFF teams are playing under the Spanish flag.  The next best will be Italy (10% - mainly 3rd division) and Netherlands (7%).  Australian teams make up 2.46% of teams in the top 3 divisions.
Even given the equalization of the draft, this still gives Spain an almost 1 in 1.7 to 1 in 1.85 advantage (my estimate) of top quality cyclists.

There are some great 19yo TT-talents in the game right now, maybe even way better then Verde.
But Verde has a high talent rating ( and a good manager ;) ) and I m glad he s three years older. The TT-generation of 20yo, 21yo, 22yo and even 23yo ; Verde has no worries about those talents, he s way better then them and also way better when he s approximatly 28-31 yo.

Then you must be the other one  ;)
Verde has 45 experience right now.
Another Dutch manager made a calculated guess, and maybe that s correct :
35 good xp
40 impressive xp
45 amazing xp

edit :
It's a new achievement, Drik. So you will have to do it again  ;D
This is also possible when you don t have this milestone, Dirk.

Yes, I must do it again  ;)
But I put in the request for this achievement because it was fun getting so much u23 exp with Gatson, and thought it might be nice to be rewarded for such commitment to a rider.

next season there will be another manager with that achievement, me.

Well, it s not so difficult, the perfect season scedule is 3 big tours, 4 little tours and 5 races including Lombardije. (=55 races)
And Verde did race a lot in my team, but not every season in a perfect scedule, sometimes other factors did matter, for example I let him race a lot in the beginning of the season when Verde had the u21 NT race, so then he had more xp then his competition during that race, but that was overkill, lol.
And Verde came very late in the game, I think it was during the Giro I bought him and he was just before the Giro entering the game but I cannot remember that exactly.
And of course the many selections for the NT races helped a lot also  8)

It means asking every manager in div 1 for not putting any tactics (even riding with 0 EP) so you might end at the 30th spot so you can have some points with someone who has no use at all.

yeah, right  ;D
Maybe he has to score points at all 27 different 1A-teams in his career^^
And that would be very difficult indeed, lol^^ He has to transfer a lot then.

This night I will add dutch and portuguese translations for these and next updates.

We can't store all information of every season for cyclists and teams ( as experience) . For this some achievements must be made since we add them.

All you can send me suggestions about achievements or other game sections and I will read all ( 5 of 7 new achievements are users suggestions).

Managed to become the first manager with a 37 yo rider in the points after all.

Abelardo Aranzabal claims the very first Chris Horner trophy with his 12th position in race 3 of Paris-Nice.

First Tour Win - First Tour Win _ First Tour Win

A big day for Cyclingboys  ;D

Today Cyclingboys managed to clinch their first ever tour win by winning the Vuelta with Alphons Fleur.

The team management are very pleased with this achievement since their objective before the race was a top 5 (Top 9 if you count in the sponsorgoal).

What makes this Victory extra sweet is that Alphons Fleur is a rider we have build ourselfs and that he did it at his first attempt at the Vuelta...He also did it without TC bonus  :)

This day will be remembered for a long time in the Cyclingboys Team Management
