Title: Tools
Post by: PANTANI28 on October 09, 2011, 08:15:10 pm
You can find in this topic a compilation of the best tools that have been published in the forum.

They have been developed by CFF users to manage their own teams. You could use them to get experience, find out your weak points, choose the best riders in the transfer market etc.

Although they are not official you can use them as a guide or as a little help but be aware that that they could be mistaken.

Let us know if...

If you have a new tool and you want to share it with us, feel free to publish it here.

If your tool is already published and you have a new version, please send me the new url and I will update it.

Feel free to translate any of these tools into your language . As far as I know, they have no copyright ;) If you have a translation, let us know it and we will publish it.

If you try to download the tool and you find out that the link is broken, please let us know and we will try to upload it again.

Ive included a Tour evaluator tab in the evaluator. Can you copy-paste the link under/above the old one? (because Ive noticed the macro gives some problems with older Excel versions..)

I made this simple training calculator. Its for people that want to know how long it takes for a rider to reach a skill value. It takes into account all the things that influence training speed like talent, u23 bonus, form etc.

Here you have a Tour-Evaluator.

Of course numbers for tours are only to have an idea of what you have in your team, some of the differences of the riders can be explained because one of the riders has got better bonus of climb, flat... etc....

Hope you like

Cycling for fun Evaluator has been updated with the GV calculations used by Dutch National Team managers.

Also with a new tab: 'Schedule' where you can schedule the whole season, including Training Camp.

HI.
What is the best tool which i coul download to calculate GV and make best tactic to each race ?

Is there a table with race and important skills in % ?

Too long here is not be any post...
Title: Re: Tools

The problem with GV is that no-one knows exactly how its made up. Everyone is using experience to come up with which cyclist is the best for a certain race.

The best you can do is download all evaluators and see what differences and likeliness you can find between GV's for the same type of race. Then you can start building your own experience on whats important.

With regards to tactics its more difficult. Its impossible to know the right tactic beforehand and even for the same race on the same day the best tactic can be different in every division. For this I would suggest you ask questions in the different race forums. There are many on this board or select a helper and ask them.

Here's an interesting bronze-silver-gold calculator tool just listed on the Spanish forum.

http://46.101.197.250/chapometro.php

Btw: You copy-paste your team's data directly into the big white text box and hit calculate (the other thing at the top, whatever it's supposed to do, doesn't seem to function)

In regards to a GV calculator for determining efforts, Sjiz is correct.  Most teams are going off of seasons of experience.  For instance, when I started in Div 4, Season 16/17, I was able to use less effort in the beginning sections and higher efforts in the later sections.  As I moved up into Div 3 and into Div 2 (where I am currently stuck) I had to use higher efforts in the beginning sections and low efforts in the later stages.  Over time and the use of spreadsheets to track my past races and effort usage, I have learned what sections use lower efforts and which need higher efforts.  As your riders get better (trained), you will see an improvement in your results.

For the newbies...I have noticed that the majority of Div 4 is inactive, that should help any new teams earn more, however it does get boring racing against the same few teams.  Just stick with it, gain experience, try different things, read the message boards and get a helper team that will actually help.  If you can't find a Div 1 team that will help, reach out to a lower div team with some experience.  Good Luck!!
