The UCI World Tour starts off the season with the exciting Tour Down Under.
Why not choose Australia and Adelaide as the location for your u23 future sprinting stars.

I'd like to thank all those managers who've taken an interest in the Aussie team; and all those who've organised forum CFF related contests (such as CFF Fantasy League, CFF Bet & CFF Awards).

Below, I've detailed Australia's prospects for the upcoming season.
U23 NT Manager : Aurora Australis

U23 Main Squad (season 15)
SPRINTERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      75.46      Fraser Walkins      22      stainie
   2      71.92      Angus Fevola      22      Chinchetas
   11      57.85      George Black      20      derazendejannen
   12      57.38      Ryan Walker      20      oriateam

Last chance for sprinter points for several seasons.  I hate to say it, but some (unlisted) 21/22 year olds need $1 sales to 4th division.  Five to seven spots available for decent 19 year olds.

CLIMBERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      75.96      Phil Blair      22      CCT
   2      71.30      Wilt Odom      22      Free Transfer
   3      71.17      Ben Marbley      22      Insuperable
   4      70.58      Dean Huling      21      alonsoteam
   5      69.64      Charles Holland      22      Teamoz
   6      68.33      Lenny Nelson      21      BrestCycling
   7      67.04      Gerard Jons      21      RichiePorte
   11      65.02      Ned Jameson      20      JM
   12      64.07      Graham Pierre      20      RichiePorte
   16      62.69      Carl Marbley      20      RichiePorte

The Aussie team is strong enough to get by, but one or two more talents would be cool.

COBBLERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      64.95      Fraser Walkins      22      stainie
   2      59.71      Benjamin Steele      21      canmarge
11      54.43      Earl Coburn      20      2 weeks until Free Transfer
   12      53.67      Abraham Reid      20      Insuperable
   13      53.18      Carl Marbley      20      RichiePorte
   23      51.07      Steve Freeman      19      Antequera
   24      51.06      Nate Huling      19      Sacido
   27      50.40      Patrick Shields      19      q36

Walkins is a sprinter.  What else can I say.  More 19 year olds please.

   HILLERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      74.87      Buck Hoffman      22      Melonazo
   2      74.40      Dudley Lungby      21      CandasuTeam
   3      70.99      Noel Emme      21      RealityCyclists
   4      68.90      Alex Simpson      21      Mtbikers
   5      68.76      Kobe Goodman      22      Desdeatraslaliderato
   6      67.97      Ashley Friend      21      RealityCyclists
9      66.43      Wendell Kelly      21      2 weeks until free transfer
   18      61.02      Aaron Friend      20      olivosteam
   27      58.48      Allen Furey      19      Aurora_Australis
   33      56.38      Dominic Friend      19      Canyon_Team
   36      55.43      Aaron Harris      19      Magpies

This season is good, next season is stardom.  They could make the talent which was available last season look like amateurs.  Already a few cool looking 19 year olds too.

   TIME TRIALERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   2      65.48      Wendell Jameson      21      NazcaCyclingTeam
   3      65.06      Martin Wolf      21      Jaguar
   4      64.44      Bud Dardar      21      NazcaCyclingTeam
   5      64.44      Colin Miller      21      NazcaCyclingTeam
   6      63.25      Tim Tweed      21      OY3
   7      63.19      George Jameson      21      Cyclorom
   8      62.63      Gerraint Lucas      21      NazcaCyclingTeam
   18      60.14      James Bookout      20      LukaStar
   19      59.96      Brooklyn Mayne      20      OY3
   22      57.62      Bill Thompson      20      NazcaCyclingTeam
   25      55.85      Barret Overall      20      OY3

Zero 22 year olds worth selecting, zero chance for points.  Selections will be based on who I think might be good for the future, and good 19 year olds would make the team.

   HILL-SPRINTERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      63.05      Angus Fevola      22      Chinchetas
   2      62.98      Isaac Friend      22      q36
   3      62.58      Dave Jons      22      Lesmateam
   4      60.99      Jake Putnam      22      Casimiro_pa_Francia
   6      56.29      Terrell Martin      21      BignigProCycling
   7      56.29      Dudley Lungby      21      CandasuTeam
   8      55.05      Frank Pinkney      21      Aurora_Australis
   15      53.10      George Black      20      derazendejannen

This season's race is more of a sprint with minor hills, and with the sprinters being allegic to any hills, hopes are minimal.

COBBLE-HILLERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      66.44      Ross Iverson      22      Insuperable
   2      66.24      Kobe Goodman      22      Desdeatraslaliderato
3      62.48      Merv Smith      21      2 weeks until free transfer
   6      58.26      Ike Gatson      21      Insuperable
   17      51.77      Nate Huling      19      Sacido

There's a good chance for points, and even greater chances of getting your 19 year old straight into the u23 team.

MOUNTAIN-HILLERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      68.67      Ben Marbley      22      Insuperable
   2      68.10      Phil Blair      22      CCT
   3      64.61      Dudley Lungby      21      CandasuTeam
   4      62.91      Alex Simpson      21      Mtbikers
   10      58.81      Ned Jameson      20      JM

More mountain than hill, which is good news for this season's prospects.

These aren't featuring in u23 NT races this season.  Here's a quick glance at who Australia's best are, plus who will be available next season.

MOUNTAIN-SPRINTERS:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      63.19      George Trautemberg      22      KTeamRC
   2      60.34      Bryn Malone      22      Valecor
   3      58.38      Dave Jons      22      Lesmateam
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   4      57.00      Andy Overall      21      Vilademes
   5      56.63      Robbie Finley      21      SwiftRacing
   8      55.86      Terrell Martin      21      BignigProCycling
   10      55.35      Herbie Farrell      21      Staffs

FLAT-HILLERS:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      69.91      Buck Hoffman      22      Melonazo
   2      67.58      Niles Muller      22      TerrorDelCaos
   3      67.26      Ashley Friend      21      RealityCyclists
   4      67.00      Gerraint Dixon      22      YPPTeam
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   3      67.26      Ashley Friend      21      RealityCyclists
7      63.30      Wendell Kelly      21      2 weeks until free transfer
   35      52.05      Greg Logsdon      19      Aurora_Australis
   37      51.62      Dominic Friend      19      Canyon_Team
(the hiller race is a bit flat, but I couldn't list it twice).

Vote Results

Many of you will know there's a lot of talk (particularly in the Spanish forums) about whether NT managers should select all 9 cyclists in u21-23 NT races solely based on the race in question, even when some cyclists are sub-standard.  Well I put this question to the vote for the Aussie u23 NT squad.
The question asked was as follows:
Quote
I'm doing a poll of Australian managers on this question.  Voting closes Friday 23:59 game time.

Even after picking 19 year old potentials, there's currently a chronic lack of suitable talent to select in several key disciplines, with several discipline only having 3 or 4 suitable cyclists for u23 NT races (eg cobbles).  Would the Australian managers rather:

1: Select one top (21 and under) cyclist from each other discipline for u23 NT experience.
2: Select all 9 for the discipline being raced, even if the cyclist has a limited future.

The results are:
Option 1: 3 votes
Option 2: 0 votes
(PS: Kindly note the strict limits to the successful option, as it's important to ensure the integrity of selections.)

Cool, we're now getting a few young 19 year olds who won't be destroyed by their managers :)
(just need a few sprinters with a smart sprinter's team in the new season)

Rick Malone is talent 4/5, I didn't know it exactly yet.

However I'm gonna train hills, so I'll have to sack him. He has been on the market for 1€, but nobody made a bid on him  :(

Well if you're not training mountain, and nobody wants him.  Thanks for the effort anyway :)

On a completely different topic.  Experience.

Out of 201 Aussie U23 cyclists, only 18 have experience over ten, and 4 over twenty.  Some of our best 22 year olds have had zero race experience outside of NTs.

If you're training u23 year olds, having your doctor-masseur's cumulative fatigue at 195+ and racing for experience adds tremendous value to your cyclists, even if you're just training to sell them.  For good cyclists, the difference can be worth millions.

Dining, theatre, trams, sport.  But did you know that in Melbourne's heart, there are many cobbled streets decorated with street art?
Why not choose Australia and Melbourne as the location for your u23 future cobbling stars.

Training Sprinters Next Season?

Just a quick note to anybody intending to train 19 year old sprinters next season.  Due to the fact that all of our 20-22 year old sprinters for next season are garbage, I'm going to select a 19 year old for team leader in the u23 NT sprint races.  If you're looking to train sprinters, this is the perfect time to train Aussies.
And if you're starting a new sprinter centric team, this is an even better time to select Australia as your team's CFF nationality.

It appears as if our thread's pages won't load properly if the page is too long.  As such, I've put in several dummy posts.

I'd like to thank all those managers who've taken an interest in the Aussie team; and a special thank you to Antequera for his long service as a NT team captain.

Below, I've detailed Australia's (laughable) prospects for the upcoming season.
U23 NT Manager : Aurora Australis
U23 Main Squad (season 16)
SPRINTERS:

Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:
Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   6      55.39      Nobby Walker      19      Patatón
   7      50.49      Duke Chamberlain      19      OY3

If your 19 year old can beat these guys, then your cyclist will be team leader; this season.  If you're training sprint, there's never been a better time to send your international scout down under.  If you're starting a new sprint team, there's no CFF nation which can give you everything CFF Australia has to offer.  A potential 4 seasons as team leader, best shot at an u21-u23 race win, plus plenty of NT bonus experience.  Unparalleled opportunities for your cyclists are down here, in Australia.

CLIMBERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:

Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      75.67      Dean Huling      22      alonsoteam
   2      74.06      Gerard Jons      22      RichiePorte
   3      71.44      Lenny Nelson      22      BrestCycling
   4      71.38      Ned Jameson      21      JM
   5      69.34      Ben Miller      22      trekteam
   6      68.86      Carl Marbley      21      RichiePorte
   7      67.39      Aaron Gailes      21      Sevici
   9      66.66      Marc Overall      20      bestiesnegres
   14      65.19      Barret Wolf      20      NYG
   16      65.11      Rick Malone      20      Stracham
   21      63.20      Christian Griffin      20      PupoTeamArg
   30      58.05      Franklin Brubaker      19      Stracham
   39      57.34      Angus Palmer      19      RichiePorte

A healthy dose of talent in each age group.  Will these guys earn enough points to starve off the wooden spoon in season 16?  Time will tell.

   COBBLERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:

Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      65.14      Merv Smith      22      AusAsoA
   2      65.13      Benjamin Steele      22      canmarge
   3      62.20      Cameron Dowden      20      dagobo
   6      59.27      Andy Odom      20      Insuperable
   9      58.87      Kobe Chambers      20      Insuperable
   13      58.44      Vinnie Fagan      20      voktorense
   16      57.65      Nate Huling      20      RandoTeamRevenge
   18      56.92      Brendan Finals      20      RenaultElf
   19      56.65      Ian Taylor      20      Insuperable

As you can see, we have plenty of talented 20 year old cobblers.

   TIME TRIALERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:

Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      70.65      Wendell Jameson      22      NazcaCyclingTeam
   2      70.38      Bud Dardar      22      NazcaCyclingTeam
   3      70.33      Martin Wolf      22      Jaguar
   4      69.88      Colin Miller      22      NazcaCyclingTeam
   5      68.48      Jake Acree      22      Valhalla50
   6      68.40      Gerraint Lucas      22      NazcaCyclingTeam
   7      68.26      James Bookout      21      LukaStar
   10      67.12      Kane Williams      20      Valhalla50

Plenty of 22 year olds.  I'm not sure they're quite capable of sneaking into the points though.  Only 2 younger TTers currently, but they'd be stars if the managers in question were training them correctly (which doesn't appear to be so).  With so few coming through the ranks, there are plenty of available positions for the foreseeable future.

Dudley should have been famous, winner of an u23 hills race.  Instead, he's left with a one in three shot of being team leader here, the prize being a marginal chance of scrapping a top 20.

   3      51.39      Arthur Griffin      19      Magpies

If only it was full cobb-hill.  There's a bit too much non-cobble hills in stage 7 for Merv, so we'll luck out again.

   FLAT-HILLERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:

Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team

   16      58.35      Allen Furey      20      Aurora_Australis
   20      57.91      Dominic Friend      20      Canyon_Team

This is the best script Ashley can get, plus he'll have a better team of domestiques than any other cyclist.  Can he do what Todd Whisman didn't have the opportunity to?  Only 3 races until we find out.

   MOUNTAIN-HILLERS:
Team Prospects:
   Team Depth:

Rank      Skill Score      Name      Age      Team
   1      68.57      Dudley Lungby      22      CandasuTeam
   2      66.12      Alex Simpson      22      Mtbikers
   3      63.75      Andy Ashley      22      AYRLULLO
   4      63.43      Ned Jameson      21      JM
   8      58.55      Will Ablett      21      Salpeters
   11      58.02      Marc Overall      20      bestiesnegres
   18      55.96      Stewart Boozer      20      PupoTeamArg
   19      55.94      Aaron Harris      20      Magpies
   22      55.37      Desmond Hardy      20      NOFX
   23      54.93      Frank Emme      20      Zamet
   5      51.21      Angus Palmer      19      RichiePorte
   11      50.06      Nate Walker      19      Sacido

A touch of flat will make race 10 interesting, because Andy has better flat skill than those above.  Scrapping a few points will be considered a win.

Noticed that my 25 year old finished 41st as a domestique (presumably) in the latest NT (Abs) race.  This is really cool given that the youngest above him was 28 year old Bo Østergaard.
