Congrats. Well done.  :)

I was in doubt for the first section, but in the end I decided not to spend energy with my leader. The race evolved pretty bad for me afterwards, with many groups and big gaps. Emme was at 1:14" after the downhill section 3. He did a good job in s4, but the damage was already done of course.

Preview Stage 3: Sprinter's Paradise

While most of Australia is enjoying a 40 degrees summer day, our best sprinters can be found in Miskolc, Hungary, for a short sprint race. Only 4 degrees over there, so that's a bit of an adaption.

Last season we won the flat sprint race with Friess who got great help from Omole. Both men got selected this season as well of course. Noel Thomas is getting older and better as well. With his team JoebaCycling, he is primed to have a breakout season now or next season. Watch him closely.  :)

Not really happy with this result, I was hoping on more gaps after 1st and 3rd section. Too many cyclists managed to stay upfront. Bronze medal isn't too bad of course, but a double attack strategy wasn't the way to go tonight.

A little bit congratz, WiC, 3rd is not bad at all, because if you keep scoring points like this in the normal races, hopefully both the time trials will make the difference  ;)

Thanks Vos. Last season though, I lost many points in the climbing TT. We won the race with Goodman, but Denmark scored lots more points.

Yep, you have a good point, I forgot to think about the special mountain TT trainingsprogram on the Himmelbjerget of the Danish  :))
Anyway, 3rd in the Countries Ranking at the moment and the number 1 (yes, Denmark^^) has just 95 points more.
So a pretty good start imo and lots of chances in the upcoming 7 (!) NT races to try to make the difference, good luck !

Stage 4: Time Trial, Hunting for Victory

John Hunter was 4th last season, a few seconds behind the winner who took benefit from a weather bonus. Alas, the weather forecast isn't beneficial today as well. Still, Hunter must be regarded as a main favorite, I have never seen a Time Trialist this good. Let's hope everything will fall into place tonight.

I don't expect other Aussie cyclists to get into the points though.

Congratz with the victory, WiC !  8)

Imo the U21 and U23 did very good this weekend, but of course not as good as previous weekend with 2 victories.
Good to see that the elite of Australia takes his turn in winning now, Australia is still hot !  :))
edit ; and now leader in the Ranking by countries !

This time around, even a mechanical problem in section 5 could not waste the party. 2nd win this season and we take over the lead in the nation's rankings.

Great job in U21 & U23 as well, Telamon and Vos. Keep up the great work.  :)
