WHAM! What an unexpected victory. I was hoping for 2 riders in the top 20 but one rider in the top 20 like this is much better  ;D
Australian's second U23 golden medal is for Carl Neville! Lets have some beer!
Well done, Carl bet my cyclist, which you know is 2 AV sprint better than Carl (& Nemesio Cobo who's pure sprint is almost 1AV better [Cobo is hill sprinter]).  Wish my Franco was Australian.
It is way easier to risk with a solid team, Italy has a weak generation this year and we couldn't risk to loose the front group and find no points with Capannari just because "he should be the best". Congratulations to this Australian team nevertheless! Only to explain why your rider was 4th, not a tactical mistake (even if I don't suppose to be a tactical bomb), but a tactical choice.

Well it's down to us, vs the Danes.  Even if I wasn't extremely biased, I'd be waving the "Go Aussie" flag right now.

Edit: 170 points in race 7 mightn't seem great, however the Danes were scoreless, and so we now have a great 545 point buffer with 3 races left.

Hmmm, what a pity leader Ian Neville missed the boat in s1. He and Foster were supposed to stay together till s4. Helper Foster finished as 5th so we can say a very good result would have been possible for Ian Neville  :'(

But the Danish got also 280 points like we did. And thats a nice plaster on the wound   :D

Awesome season so far, Telamon, keep it up !  8)
445 points ahead of Denmark, a good lead but for sure not good enough to sell the kangaroo skin yet^^

The upcoming race is on the cobblestones.
Two seasons ago at the u21 in a slightly different cobblestone race ;
Denmark won and Australia was 2nd.
Also the Danish scored more points (1st, 8th, 16th = 500 points) than Australia (2nd, 19th and 20th = 280 points).

So it will be very close and very exciting before the last race of the season starts. Cool !  8)

Good the last race will be a tactical race.
( if you want, you can ride with fox tactics advice  ;), although the Telamon tactics will be at least just as good, I assume).
And Australia has possibly a very good cyclist for that race, Stephen Jones. Most likely he will battle for the u23 world championship with his also good Danish teammate. Both competitors ride for the Dutch TeamNextGeneration, and with our Dutch roots we probably know who is better by then and you can already decide what the selling price of the kangaroo skin will be, although the best moment to sell the kangaroo skin will remain after the last race because of the by me expected very small points difference  between Australia and Denmark.

Yeah! What a great youth we have this season! And our cobblers are doing it again like they did in race 2 this season: gaining lots of points for Australia. 555 points today with a bronze medal for Gus Williams, and Goodman as 5th!

Still one race to go...

IMPRESSIVE AND EXCELLENT RACE, TELAMON, VERY WELL DONE !!!  8)

Denmark won the race, but Australia scored the most points !
195 points more then Denmark, so this means an awesome lead of 740 points in the ranking by countries !  8)
Telamon is writing history for Australia ; the first ever Australian world championship !
Of course it is only certain after the final race, but Telamon can already start to think what kind of price he wants for the kangaroo skin  ;)

I have to point out that I don't underestimate the Danish, I think they are really good in the final race. But I also think and hope Australia can score enough points in the final race to stay ahead of the Danish. A gap of 740 points seems very promising. Thrilling final race next week !
GO GO GO Telamon and Australia u23 !  :)
