Australia U21 Season 37
« on: March 24, 2018, 09:15:46 am »
Welcome to season 37.  For this season, I return to one of the NT chairs for Australia. As we have fewer strong cyclists, I'll be targeting race wins rather than a good overall ranking.  Also with limited depth this season, there will be plenty of opportunities for decent 19 year olds to gain race experience, so I'll encourage everybody to send their international scout to Australia.

Below is my calculated cyclist scores for each discipline.  There's only three 19 year olds at present, two of which are suited for the tours.

Our list of 19 year olds after draft 2.  Talent is currently extremely thin on the ground, so any half decent cyclist would be assured of NT selections; and as such, I'd recommend sending your international scout to Australia today.

With the exception of a few tour cyclists, this is Australia's entire list of effective 19 year olds.  For anybody still pulling cyclists, kindly send your international scouts down to Australia.  Free air barbecue for you on this ANZAC Day.

Race 6

Selections
Kendall Battle   DonostiCT   20
Donovan Ryan   Toblerone   20
Oliver Lindsay   Periquitos   20
Duke Madsen   HtcItalia   20
Mark Horwill   Toblerone   20
Henry Battle   FinOCyclinGTeaM   20
Clive Butcher   CobbleCrushers   20
Jake Lindsay   Toblerone   20
Vince Acree   CobbleCrushers   20

Prospects
So far this season, I've killed the team every time I've made a prediction, so this here isn't a prediction.  The good news is that every cyclist here has come to race.

Results
Position   Name   Age   Time behind   Points   Team
3rd   Henry Battle      20   0: 00"   225      FinOCyclinGTeaM
10th   Duke Madsen      20   0: 14"   120      HtcItalia
11th   Clive Butcher      20   0: 14"   110      CobbleCrushers
19th   Oliver Lindsay      20   0: 29"   20      Periquitos

Loads of points, so that's cool

Very late thx Dirk.  Against logic, I picked him as team leader, with a few free rolers who didn't make it; so it worked as good as was possible.

Well done getting into the points, it seems like a tricky race!
Small selection in first section with no Ausie represented in the breakaway and it looked quite bleak in section 2 and 3.
Franklin did a super job to get Ben near the front!
