Races season 38
« on: June 11, 2018, 10:50:16 pm »
Soooooo just started the Tirreno. My silent Russian Nikolov will have to finish in the top 10 for me. He is just 26 and the second division will be tough. But i have high hopes for him even though he lost a lot in the first stage.

Ps. Here is a happy panda for all my fans:

Well, that was a good race. Nikolov made it over the top in the first group and finished 10th. We are now sitting on place  30, 1:12 down on the leader. Duffy and Serrano are doing it better at 23 and 27 but they are lesser climbers.

Antequara is currently dominating by taking up the first 4 spots in the gc.

Difficult choice. The GC is not looking great but there are possibilities for a top 15. However, Piip and Kelly are amongst the favourites for the stage. Do i go for the GC or the stage?

In that case, I'd go for the stage victory. 15th or 18th in GC doesn't matter all that much.  8)

GLORY! I sort of agree. However it could be a valuable lesson for riding GCs

PINEDA ( SP0RTLIFE ) wins stage 2 of the Tirreno Adriatico !

First victory of my team this season.  8)
Pineda was 2nd in stage 3 and after stage 4 he is still wearing the green jersey.
He is for sale, just 700k, perfect for stage 6 of the Giro, and he has an active weather icon in that race.

Well done Vos!

The last stage for me was also good. Kelly took the win and beat all the grandpa's he raced with. The Gc was not what i hoped but hey, the giro is next :p

Thanks Sjiz  :)
And you also congratz with the victory in stage 5 of the Tirreno with the just 26yo Kelly.  8)
ps ; you can update your forumprofile ; not div 3h anymore because your team promoted previous season with an extreme high amount of points. And your team of almost all 26yo's is looking great and very promising ! Division 1A is worried already^^

Nice results with Pineda, Vos. You might win the award of "cheapest rider to win a stage in div 1" again this season  :D

Until this morning, our results this season had been pretty average with top 20 spots for Zannotti (Paris-Nice) and Blair (Tirreno) and a few top 10 classifications with Detari in the cobble-hill races in the first week.

However, around Köln Paulino caught up with the leaders in the final sprint and managed to stay ahead of them to get our first victory since we promoted back to the first division.  ;D

With our team we're just grabbing a few points here and there, nothing to get too excited about.

The fight for #1 spot in the first division is heating up nicely though, with Reekse doing (surprisingly?) well and showing he's really going for it by the transfers he's doing. They seem close together in the cobble/hill races, both not really participating in the cobbles races. Will be interesting to see how they will match up in the hills that are coming.

Spiker finishes as 4th in this great and famous race.  8)
Not bad^^ for a silver cobblestone specialist who does not have TC bonus and who could not challenge the favorites.  :)

For those who want to have more fun during the Vuelta a Espańa ;
go to the Vuelta-topic on the Dutch forum :

http://www.cyclingforfun.org/smf/index.php/topic,2637.msg279801.html#msg279801

Everyone who posts something there and has good results, will be in the (probably two) overviews that I will make during the Vuelta. And of course there will be one overview at the end.
It does not matter in what division your team is in.
And you can use any language you want.
If you are curious what is written in a language you don't know, you can use google translator or ask it in English on the forum.

Good luck and have fun everyone !  :)

After dominating 3c all season, I'll have my third tier cyclists at Espana, who will probably be:

Andrea Pannucchi - General leader - could he win despite not even being a bronze climber?
Teun Veenstra - Climber (domestique? or free reign if Pannucchi isn't up there in general) & experience points
Matthias K.Jessen - Mainly experience, but also stage 2

Plus likely
Franco Cappanari - would get sprinter stage wins, even with 60 something health.
And one undecided.  Maybe Cor Vierbergen, even though Espana isn't his ideal tour.  Other option is Teun Linssen, if I don't think he has enough points to finish the season in the top 10 (I'm aiming for 6 cyclists to end the season top 10 for 3c).  Or alternatively, I could rest Henri VanDinther, so his health is above mid 60s, and give him a free run.

Edit: Change in planned lineup.  Decided to omit Franco (2 less stage wins this way), and including as final picks Teun Linssen (guaranteeing top 10 points finish for him [probably would have had it anyway], and Henri VanDinther in a mainly free role (for now).
