U21 USA
« on: June 09, 2012, 07:52:15 pm »
This season I have decided to keep all the 10 races in the same thread. Hope everyone is okay with that :)

Race 1 / 10

The calender for the U21 season looks very bad for us. 3 time trials, where we do not have any clear top 20 candidates, but we will see. (but do not expect at silver medal again).

90 points in race 2. I had hoped for two riders in top 20, but Kenny lost track of the best riders on section 3 :( Gary Wolf was without helpers most of the day, so 13th was okay, but not fantastic.

We are 9th in the overall standings.

13    Gary Wolf      20   a timer 0 minutter 9 sekunder    90      Capernaum
32    Vinnie Lloyd      20   a timer 0 minutter 32 sekunder    0      OnceSobreLaBici
35    Kenny Yon      20   a timer 0 minutter 32 sekunder    0      Sacroux
53    Patrick Garlick      20   a timer 0 minutter 43 sekunder    0      Capernaum
56    Kobe Battle      20   a timer 0 minutter 43 sekunder    0      derazendejannen
57    Colin McClure      20   a timer 0 minutter 43 sekunder    0      Calibre38
107    James Clark      20   a timer 1 minutter 21 sekunder    0      SkibetCycling
129    Richard Boles      19   a timer 1 minutter 34 sekunder    0      Rejon
131    Christian Cook      19   a timer 1 minutter 34 sekunder    0      Malm÷Warriors

Race 3 / 10

Prediction: 0 points. We do not look good in mountain/hills, and next season will be even worse.

Looks like I got lucky and drafted a decent 19 year old sprinter. Check him out and tell me what you think. I think he could be a prospect for stage 4 -

Nate Hoffman Age : 19 Wage : 838
Stamina : 37 Sprint : 70 Climbing : 9
Flat : 54 Cobblestone : 13 Technique : 28
Downhill : 18 Hills : 45 Aggressiveness : 78
Time Trial : 49 Teamwork : 32 Experience : 0

I love his aggressiveness and high sprint numbers. Stamina is decent for a sprinter to. Teamwork and technique could be better, but are good enough IMHO. Will need some flat training somwhere along the line to...

He is by far the best 19 yo sprinter we have. Very nice with the aggressiveness  ;) He will for sure be selected later in the U21 calender.
I don't know what is going on in this season with promoting americans. So far I still only have the one from the draft, and I promote every day and i'm using the international scout - only 21 and 22 yo :(
Maybe the other americans have the same problem, because so far we only have around 25 19 yo riders, and many are not the same quality as last season.

Glad to hear he is a keeper. :)

Yeah, I'm a stickler for high aggressiveness numbers in my sprinters! ;D

I've also been promoting daily and had a problem finding 19 year olds. This is my first one in many tries, and luckily he is a good one, maybe a future great if I handle him right. I've been through many 20/21/22 year olds that really weren't good at all. Maybe this draft of mine is a good omen for the future and things are about to turnaround in the American draft. Lets hope!

I have had similar success promoting and scouting.  I have only got one 19 year old. He was garbage and quickly fired. I was also out bid on all my selections in the last draft. I did recently buy Kent Gailes on the market so I finally have a 19 year old.

Okay, I surprised myself again. We got points !

9    Neville Mulvey      20   a timer 0 minutter 29 sekunder    130      Pancuit
45    Dominic Berlanga      20   a timer 1 minutter 26 sekunder    0      Caracoles
52    Walt Ray      20   a timer 1 minutter 30 sekunder    0      Malm÷Warriors
64    Charles Harmon      20   a timer 1 minutter 37 sekunder    0      jienensescycling
69    William Westerfield      20   a timer 1 minutter 38 sekunder    0      SaxoGonmarBank
85    Ali Johnson      20   a timer 1 minutter 46 sekunder    0      michaelshumacher
93    Pat Jones      20   a timer 1 minutter 50 sekunder    0      CanFatjo

169    Kenny Yon      20   a timer 3 minutter 25 sekunder    0      Sauceda

We are though down one spot. Now in 10th. I do not expect much better than this, because the calender is so bad for us this season.

Hamsten should be good enough to get a top 10.

I had hoped for a top 5, but 8th is okay for Hamsten. He only used 7 energypoints, so he should have all the energy he needed for the sprint. 140 is okay. Hamsten didn't get much help today :( Kenny Bush was close to hang on and get into top 20.

8    Natham Hamsten      20   a timer 0 minutter 0 sekunder    140      JoebaCycling
25    Kenny Bush      20   a timer 0 minutter 17 sekunder    0      Totsxutats

46    Douglas Sweet      20   a timer 0 minutter 17 sekunder    0      AmericanRacoons
